The Rube Goldberg Institute has partnered with NASEF, The North American E-sports Federation, to present the Rube Goldberg Big Build Challenge in Minecraft. This free competition invites students from around the globe to imagine, design and build whimsical chain reaction machines in the digital world of Minecraft.
How do I enter the Rube Goldberg Big Build Minecraft Competition?
Go to https://www.nasef.org/rube-goldberg and click on "Register".
What if I don't have Minecraft Education Edition?
In the registration process you will be asked if you require Minecraft Education game licenses. If you do not currently have Minecraft Education access, be sure to check the box indicating that you require accounts and NASEF will provide them for your team, free of charge.
When is the deadline to submit my build?
All "Big Build" submissions are due in the spring. Watch our website for this information.
What is the task?

Can my machine begin with the task?
Every machine must end with the task. But if you want to also begin your machine with the task, or add it to the middle of the machine, you can!
What are the prizes?
For each of the two preseason challenges, three teams will have their video showcased on the NASEF website and social media and win a $100 Amazon gift card. Winners will be selected at random from qualifying entries.
